BIOSPHERE AND HUMANITY: FROM THE IDEAS OF N. W. TIMOFEEFF-RESSOVSKY TO THE PROBLEMS OF MODERNITY

The creative environment of Obninsk was favourable to the crystallization of N. W. Timofeeff-Ressovsky's ideas in the inexhaustible area of his research on the biosphere and humanity (1968). Even today the ideas have not yet been fully realized. Their essence is formulated ":in terms of physics, the biosphere of the Earth is an open thermodynamic system: It is an essential component of the general life of the Earth as a planet and the power screen between the Earth and Space and that film, which transforms the certain part of space energy, mainly solar, into valuable high-molecular organic substance: it also forms a balanced atmosphere composition, and solutions composition in natural waters, and it creates the energy of our planet through atmosphere: Careless attitudes toward the biosphere result in the disturbance of proper atmospheric functioning, meaning that people in an improper biosphere cannot live on the Earth." In this case Timofeeff-Ressovsky always said: "Nobody can run away from the good life to space." Nikolay Vladimirovich united diverse processes into a unified system of knowledge: ":energetic entrance into the biosphere in the form of solar energy - biological circulation of biosphere - leaving the biosphere for geology." The main sense of the offered triad lies in understanding the mechanisms which increase the efficiency of the biosphere.
The strategic importance of the problem and its complicated analysis leads to the necessity of the creation of a uniform and adequate language for the formal description of observable processes. We think that a solution for the formulated problem is a synthesis of artificial intellectual environments (AIE) (Gorbushin 1996), consisting of knowledge on quanta representing conceptually semantic images (objects). Each of the objects is a term or group of the semantically homogeneous terms with similar meanings of phenomena, properties or regularities containing similar notions about the phenomena, properties or laws of the material and spiritual world and how it and human activities are connected to each other.
On the basis of the association of concepts and senses in a complete image it is possible to order terminological space in any area of knowledge and to synthesize AIE. AIE is a set of elementary structured conceptual-semantic images (objects), interconnected among themselves, in a researched area of knowledge.
The stated principles have allowed us to synthesize the first version AIE on the complex problem "Biosphere and Humanity" (Gorbushin 2003). For the massive information input of the documents, the works of national and foreign scientists in the area of biospherology for the synthesis of the environment were taken. In the result of the information analysis we revealed terminological space containing about 10 000 terms, from which we have allocated more than 1 000 conceptual-semantic images, which we have grouped in sections: biology, biophysics, biosphere, man, space (cosmology), space systems, ecological systems, ecology, power processes, evolution, geosphere, live substance, climate, mathematical modeling, philosophy, physics, planet, radioecology, socium, property, system, engineering and phenomena. The rich variety of conceptual-semantic images was submitted as a numerical matrix with the dimensions 1034*1034. The important neutral and passive directions of the research are allocated in the matrix. It becomes clear that AIE, generated on the basis of conceptual-semantic images, promotes the perfection of the mechanism of thinking by natural intelligence in understanding and decision-making on the problems of the coevolution of the biosphere and humanity. The property of the biosphere, shown as the power screen-converter in the system Space-Earth, causes the biosphere-power strategy of thinking and the development of humanity.
The formulated strategy of thinking allows the lifting of the appropriate level of the life phenomenon and the creation of a universal world model. It becomes increasingly clear that adequate language is needed for the classification of collected material, for the description and representation of the data. V. I. Korogodin (1991) approves that ":the phenomenon of life and its evolution can be interpreted as the strictly successive process of the occurrence and development of information. The religious, moral, ethical, political and scientific ideas, which are recognized as the human community, create a global information system. From this point of view all forms of social competition - all kinds of ideological struggle and all wars - are nothing other than the struggle of fragments of logical information amongst themselves: Wars and revolutions are the struggle for the existence of different kinds of information, in which separate people, their communities and entire states act only in the role as its instruments." In this connection it is possible to allocate the consolidating function of information as a global network in a uniform and complete system at the level of the triad "society-political / socio-economic / information-power processes". Understanding the mechanisms and the realization of the technology of the interaction of the elements of this triad will ensure the perfection of life on Planet Earth, as this allows the presentation of the information in a uniform (complete) three-dimensional system of coordinates. Such decision opens opportunities actively to use physical and mathematical (objective) methods for the analysis of important problems of life.
There is a set of variants, which cannot all be listed, using the known space of logic opportunities and, especially, isolating the most probable script from it by traditional methods. Nevertheless, using AIE, there is the opportunity for the construction and analysis of the stability of models of formation and the development of live substance, and criterion of the correct decision on a problem which can serve as models of consciousness and biosphere-power strategy. The received result testifies to the variety of opening directions in front of basic researches and expediency by way of the development of N. W. Timofeeff-Ressovsky's ideas in the field of biosphere and humanity in the XXI century.

Since the time that the Obninsk Task Force was created, its main attention has been concentrated on holding the conference 'Biosphere and Humanity', devoted to the Centenary of the natural scientist N. W. Timofeeff-Ressovsky. He contributed significantly into elaboration of problems of genetics, radiobiology, radioecology, evolution theory and cosmic ecosystems. In 1968 N. W. Timofeeff-Ressovsky formulated his main theses and ensured harmonious co-existance (co-evolution) of the Biosphere and Humanity. He concentrated on the following natural

Proceedings of the conference were published. Prof. Otto Kinne was invited to take part but was unable to attend.
In 2001 I applied for a grant for 2002 on the creation of an artificial intellectual medium for solution of problems of the Biosphere and Humanity. Undoubtedly, works connected with eco-ethics will be included in this medium.
